Perspective Changes Everything

Recently, while standing at the top of the Space Needle, I was struck by how different everything looked from above.

From that height, the city stretched for miles. Roads intersected in ways that seemed effortless, neighborhoods connected naturally, and patterns became visible that simply couldn’t be seen from the ground. What felt busy and fragmented at street level suddenly looked organized, connected, and full of possibility.

Bringing in Strategy

This experience reminded me a lot of strategic work.

Organizations often operate deep in the day-to-day realities of their work, managing programs, responding to immediate needs, supporting teams, pursuing funding opportunities, and trying to keep momentum moving forward. When you’re that close to the work, it can be difficult to step back and fully see how the pieces fit together.

Not because the vision isn’t there, but because proximity can make perspective harder to find.

That’s where strategic support can make a significant difference.

Much of my work through Rich Results LLC involves helping organizations pause long enough to gain a broader view of their goals, partnerships, challenges, and opportunities. Together, we examine what is already working, where momentum exists, what gaps need attention, and how ideas can align into a clearer path forward.

From that vantage point, clarity begins to emerge. Priorities sharpen. Connections become more visible. New opportunities take shape. And the next steps often feel far more manageable.

Sometimes organizations don’t need to completely reinvent their vision. They simply need the space to step back, reframe the view, and reconnect the pieces in a more intentional way.

Perspective matters because it helps us move from reacting to planning, from uncertainty to alignment, and from scattered efforts to meaningful momentum.

Sometimes, all it takes is a different view.
